Tim has always been an avid fan of martial arts ever since he was a young boy. He is extremely interested in all forms of martial arts especially the ancient Khmer "Bokator" Bokator has been locked away from the public eye for over 1000 years. As incredible as this is many thousands of people including the Khmer people. For some this is the first time anyone has experience Bokator.
One of the many reasons Tim wanted to be a big part of this just like Author and adventurer Antonio Graceffo & Grand Master San Kim Sean because they want to ensure that they keep "Bokator" alive. It would be an injustice If we didn't record what we now know about this. We don't want this ancient art form to be lost forever. Included in an article by Antonio Graceffo he was told by Grand Master Kim Sean one of the original teachers of Bokator that we need to preserve this artform by writing as many books, films, tv shows, articles etc before all the masters pass away. That's the good thing about the internet especially we can put it onto the net and instantly millions of martial arts enthusiasts around the world can marvel at this incredible artform as it has been for decades, untouched.
Grand Master Kim Sean wanted "Bokator" to be preserved so that it can be enjoyed by all for generations to come!. "Ever since I was a little boy I was curious of what we now know is "Bokator". I had heard the elders speak of this and had read stories of it but I had never seen a demonstration of it until now" says Tim.
Tim wanted to bring awareness, promote and show it in all it's glory being true to it's original origins. Bokator has much history behind it as it was actually widely used by The Great King Jayavarman 7th himself.
"We hope this film is a bench mark for young and old. We want to share with the world that Cambodian people have a lot to offer and learn from the great Angorian ancestors". says Tim.
